The race has since become world
renowned with almost 100 skiers attending the event each year. Dubbed “Barefootings Toughest Race” by Water-Ski Magazine in 1998, the Dam to Dam has spawned dozens of similar events held across the country with races in New Zealand, Australia and Africa. In addition, there is now a professional barefoot racing league with teams using specialized racing boats and equipment traveling the country earning points as they
compete, Nascar style.
November 8th of 2014 marks the Twenty Seventhconsecutive year of the Dam to Dam
Race. As in years past, the event will host several professional teams as well as several
colorful teams, including; an all women’s team, a reunion team and a junior boys team.
Every barefooter who competes will receive at-shirt, and a big plate of Texas barbeque.
